John McDonough CEO and Founder
John is the CEO and founder of Shorthand Mobile. He has been at the vanguard of
mobile technologies since the birth of CDMA technology at Qualcomm in the early
90’s, having served in both strategic and operational roles. Prior to founding Shorthand
in 2006, John was General Manager of the CDMA Chipset Business Unit of Texas Instruments
where he directed the product marketing, business development and product development
efforts for TI's CDMA chipset solutions. John was also a Distinguished Member of
the Technical Staff at TI and directed the development of TI’s first WCDMA baseband
SOC.
John also co-founded and served as Vice President of Engineering for Dot Wireless,
helping to drive the growth of the company to a $475M acquisition by Texas Instruments
in 2000.
Prior to Dot Wireless, John was Director of Engineering for NextWave Telecom, Inc.
and an engineering manager at QUALCOMM, Inc. from 1987 to 1996. At QUALCOMM John
led the development of their proprietary DSP solutions from initial concept through
two generations and he also led the development of the first CDMA basestation modulator
chip which was part of the pioneering 5 chip set that signaled the commercialization
of CDMA in the early 1990s.
John is also a Venture Partner with iSherpa Capital, a VC firm investing in wireless
products and technologies. John serves on the advisory boards of three technology
companies. He is a named inventor on 36 issued and 11 pending patents in the area
of wireless communications and systems, holds a Master of Engineering from Harvey
Mudd College, and has completed the Executive Program at UCLA's Anderson School
of Management.

Craig Braun Director Business Development
Craig leads business development for Shorthand Mobile. Prior to that, Craig served
as Senior Consultant with BearingPoint. During his 6 years with Bearing Point, Craig
was the engagement lead on business, finance and project management projects. Craig
created a new venture business case combining consumer photography, entertainment
and the Internet while with Hewlett-Packard’s New Business Development group. He
has also served as a Business Development and marketing consultant to technology
ventures in Southern California.
Craig came to Shorthand Mobile after completing his MBA with the inaugural class
of UCSD’s Rady School of Management. He also received his B.S. with Distinction
from UCSD.

Surendranath Chandranath Development Manager, India
Suren has 13 years experience in architecting business critical enterprise software
solutions and consumer software products. He has consulted on technology strategy
for Global 500 organizations including Vodafone, France Telecom, BNP Paribas, Swiss
Re and various high-tech startups during his 11 years with Infosys Technologies.
Suren has undergraduate and master's degrees in Technology from the Indian Institute
of Technology, Bombay.

David Chang Development Manager, US
David Chang is Development Manager for Shorthand Mobile. David has more than 10
years of experience in cell phone software development. Prior to Shorthand David
was the Director of Physical Layer Cellular Software Development at Texas Instruments.
As director, David was responsible for managing more than 35 engineers developing
software to control TI's WCDMA chipset solution. David was also elected to the technical
ladder while at Texas Instruments. Before Texas Instruments David was a software
developer at Dot Wireless and CommQuest Technologies.
David received his BSEE and MSEE from The University of Michigan.

Prashant Kantak Business Strategy
Prashant is a venture advisor and investor. He started and led QUALCOMM Ventures,
a $500M global strategic investment fund, overseeing 50+ investments over six years.
During his 16 years at Qualcomm, he has been responsible for corporate strategy,
business development, partnerships and M & A.
Prashant holds 3 patents, and his BSEE, MSEE and MBA degrees from Cornell.

Sue Lueder Project Manager
Sue Lueder is a project manager and leads the QA team for Shorthand Mobile. She
has 15 years experience in telecommunications software and systems development,
quality management, and project management at Qualcomm, Ericsson Wireless, and Texas
Instruments, building high performing teams and driving projects to completion.
Sue is also the co-inventor of a Qualcomm-held patent.
Sue has her B.S. in Physics from UCSD, is a certified Project Management Professional
(PMP) and recently completed her M.S. in Organizational Development at Pepperdine
University.

Raj Oswal Director Business Development, India
Raj Oswal was involved with Shorthand from its inception and spent the first few
years forming and managing the Indian Development operations based in South India.
He now leads Business Development for the Indian region. He divides his time between
San Diego, and various cities throughout India. He has been an early participant
in three web-centric start-ups in the Silicon Valley, as well as a Regional Manager
for the PDA division of Sharp Electronics, Japan.
Raj obtained his MBA at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and his B.S. at UCSB/
UCR.

Forrest Wright Marketing and Communications
Forrest heads up marketing and communications for Shorthand Mobile. Forrest has
worked with clients both big (PETCO, the University of California) and small (Transcend
Creative Group, Education Systems) to create memorable campaigns and messages that
stick with their audience. Though firmly planted in the clouds, he’s a pragmatist
when it comes to implementation. He developed this ambidextrous talent while producing
feature films, television, video and live events for the likes of Warner Bros.,
Intel, SAP and Bristol-Meyers Squibb.
Forrest received his MBA from the Rady School of Management at UCSD.
